Family Court Services (FCS) offices are located in each judicial district throughout the state. FCS supports parties that are divorcing, modifying child custody, and establishing parenting arrangements for their children. FCS promotes non-adversarial methods of dispute resolution and can connect parties with services such as child custody mediation, assistance with parenting plan agreements, and supervised access. Education regarding parenting, children’s needs and the impact of conflict on children may also be provided. FCS also works collaboratively with the judicial districts’ Court Assistance Offices and Domestic Violence Courts to identify resolutions to conflict.

Idaho Domestic Violence Courts seek to improve the civil and criminal justice system’s response to domestic violence by enhancing victim safety and offender accountability and providing effective case management and coordination of information when families are involved in multiple cases. As domestic violence courts expand throughout Idaho and promote best practices in effectively handling these difficult civil and criminal cases, more rural counties are incorporating these practices. Domestic Violence Courts can currently be found in the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Judicial Districts.
